The Cygnet V8 is not a limited series but a single car built in 2018 by `Q by Aston Martin` for one client. The idea is so excessive that it becomes serious: take the tiny Cygnet shell, rework it heavily and fit a `4.7 V8` with `430 hp`. Even an Abarth 500 looks rational beside it. That is exactly why it has to be judged as a custom engineering project rather than as an amusing microcar.
Under the shape, the logic is far closer to a `Vantage S`: adapted subframes, rear-wheel drive, an extremely short `torque tube`, a completely non-standard layout and a `Sportshift II` gearbox. The production Cygnet is little more than a visual starting point. What matters instead is thermal consistency, the quality of the one-off fabricated parts and the way the whole car ages when almost nothing is standard.
