The Rapide E was meant to open a new era at Aston Martin by adapting the Rapide shape to an electric drivetrain. With roughly `65 kWh` of battery capacity, two motors and a very high-end position, it was never trying to copy a high-volume Tesla. It was conceived instead as an exclusive electric GT, closer in spirit to an upper-tier Tesla Model S than to an ordinary EV saloon.
That project remains highly unusual because it belongs to a difficult industrial transition period for the brand. The Rapide E therefore combines a rare architecture, an extremely small production run and heavy dependence on software as well as battery cooling. It is exactly the kind of car that can fascinate a well-informed collector and become very delicate without serious documentation or technical support.
