Launched in `2017`, the `RS4 B9` drops the naturally aspirated `V8` in favour of the `2.9 V6 biturbo` with `450 hp`. It loses some of the old-school soundtrack, but gains a lot of torque and everyday effectiveness. Against a Mercedes C-Class in `AMG` trim or a BMW M3, it positions itself as a very complete fast estate with real long-distance pace and genuine daily usability.
The `EA839` works with the `ZF 8HP`, `quattro` and, depending on specification, the sport differential or the `RS Dynamic` pack. On the used market, the key is not just power but the way the engine, cooling circuit, turbos, gearbox, front axle, brakes and electronics all work together. On such a fast family car, small warning signs such as hesitation, heat-related oddities or unsettled shifts need to be taken seriously early.
