Launched in `2013`, the `RS7 Sportback C7` puts `RS6` mechanicals into a much more theatrical fastback body. Against a highly powered BMW 5 Series or a high-performance Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it plays more as a fast and prestigious GT than as an ultra-practical estate. Used, it is deeply seductive, but rarely sensible when servicing was shortened or modifications became too ambitious.
You get the `4.0 TFSI V8` with the `8-speed tiptronic`, `quattro`, and later `Performance` versions up to `605 hp`, in a package where engine, brakes, large tyres, suspension and comfort electronics all have to remain properly sorted. The engineering is not inherently weak, but it demands disciplined oil work, healthy thermal control, proper ignition follow-up and real chassis budget. The more visually enhanced or tuned the car is, the colder you need to read the invoices.
