Revised in late 2017, the BMW i8 Coupé (I12 LCI) represents the most refined evolution of Munich's plug-in hybrid coupé. It remains a car apart from a Porsche 911, less focused on outright lap times than on a technological statement: carbon cell, rear three-cylinder turbocharged engine, front electric motor and all-wheel drive without a mechanical driveshaft. This is the phase to seek out if you want the most complete and balanced version.
Combined output rises to `374 hp`, the battery grows to `11.6 kWh` gross and the electric range improves noticeably over the original i8. The combustion engine remains the `B38K15T0 1.5 turbo`, paired with the front electric module and a dedicated automatic gearbox. On this generation, the car must be assessed as a complex prestige hybrid: HV battery health, AC charging quality, cooling, consistency of combustion-to-electric transitions and a clean fault log across the entire drivetrain.
