From 2016 onwards, the 595 is more than a simple cosmetic refresh. Abarth restructures the range, improves the cabin and offers a clearer ladder between entry versions, Turismo, Pista and Competizione. The fundamentals do not change: tiny size, an expressive 1.4 turbo and a very theatrical way of turning any journey into a short driving event. It remains a more radical option than a MINI Cooper S.
The facelift also improves equipment, with more modern infotainment and better-defined chassis and braking combinations. On the `165` and `180 hp` variants, the electronic differential, firm dampers and active exhaust produce a car that is very lively, sometimes even tiring on rough surfaces. Manual gearboxes remain the most desirable, but the MTA continued on several markets and should never be bought without a long drive.
