The Spider 939 is not a small playful roadster. It is a broad, heavy, style-led GT convertible, and that means it should be bought as a coherent package of engine, transmission, roof and chassis condition, not just on looks.
The range is broad, from `1.8 TBi` and `2.2 JTS` to `2.0` and `2.4 JTDM`, plus the `3.2 JTS V6`, sometimes with `Q4`, `Q-Tronic` or `Selespeed`. The `1.8 TBi` is often the best compromise. JTS cars need intake, ignition and oil vigilance, diesels hate underuse, and the `3.2 V6`, especially in `Q4` form, adds significant weight and cost.
