Launched in 2012 to replace the DBS, the `Vanquish II` kept Aston Martin's VH architecture but pushed carbon use much further in the bodywork. Its naturally aspirated `5.9-litre V12` remains central to the experience, with a noble top end and real mechanical depth. This generation does not try to mimic a mid-engined supercar; it fully embraces its role as a fast, luxurious and highly demonstrative grand coupe.

On the road, it feels closer to a very polished Maserati GranTurismo than to a hard-edged sports coupe. The Vanquish prefers long distances, strong in-gear acceleration and fast open curves rather than tight technical sections. Later cars benefit from better gearbox calibration, which makes them more convincing both in town and on long trips and gives the model a stronger case beyond pure collecting.
