The `Vanquish S` is the last development of the naturally aspirated V12 Vanquish, and it feels that way straight away. Power climbs beyond `600 hp`, the `Touchtronic III` gearbox becomes more convincing and the aerodynamic package adds specific elements that give the car a harder edge. For many enthusiasts, it is the best possible reading of Aston Martin's big GT coupe before the move to newer twin-turbo cars.
Yet the S remains a GT first. It does not have the liveliness of a smaller coupe, but it compensates with density, voice and the way it covers long distances with uncommon ease. A Maserati GranTurismo feels more fluid; the Vanquish S is more exclusive, more serious in its chassis and distinctly more intimidating when the pace rises for real.
