The first `V12 Vanquish` holds a unique place in Aston Martin history. Shaped under Ian Callum's influence, assembled at Newport Pagnell and made famous on screen, it mixes an aluminium-carbon structure, superformed aluminium panels and a presentation that still feels deeply hand-built. Its `5.9-litre V12` does more than provide power; it creates a heavy, noble and almost ceremonial mechanical atmosphere unlike that of an ordinary sports coupe.
Its real subject is not raw performance but the way it delivers it. The `ASM` transmission imposes a very particular rhythm, the opposite of the easy fluidity of a contemporary Porsche 911.
