Facelifted in `2013`, the `RS5 Cabriolet 8T` remains one of Audi's last open models with a big naturally aspirated `V8`. Against a Porsche 911 Cabriolet or a powerful Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet, it leans more toward fast grand touring than outright sharpness. On the used market it is still deeply tempting, but as a heavy, powerful and sophisticated convertible it is no casual buy.
Under the bonnet sits the `4.2 FSI` with `450 hp`, matched to the `S tronic` and `quattro`. Beyond ignition, intake, cooling and gearbox servicing, the Cabriolet adds its own maintenance layer through the roof mechanism, seals, drains, boot area, shell rigidity and comfort electronics. A good car needs to feel coherent both with the roof up and down, staying dry, properly adjusted and mechanically tidy.
