Introduced in `2019`, the `RS5 Sportback F5` transfers the coupe's mechanical package into a much more family-friendly five-door body. Against a BMW 5 Series or a highly powered Mercedes C-Class, it offers a rather unusual formula: genuine sports-car pace, but with a hatchback, usable rear seats and credible daily versatility. On the used market that attracts very mixed buyers, which makes history and care level even more important.

You still get the `2.9 TFSI`, the `8-speed tiptronic` and `quattro`, with the same core demands as on the coupe: healthy thermal behaviour, sound turbo hardware, a well-kept gearbox, and brakes and tyres that still match the car. On the `Sportback`, you also need to read the condition of the tailgate, the openings, the comfort electronics and signs of a more practical life that was not necessarily a gentler one. A good car has to stay very coherent despite its double role as family machine and performance model.
