The CT6 I holds a special place in the Cadillac catalogue: a full-size luxury saloon built on the Omega platform with unusual attention to kerb weight and agility. The car sets out to offer genuine long-distance refinement without entirely abandoning dynamic intent. In spirit it occupies similar ground to a Mercedes S-Class, but with a quieter, more technical character of its own.
The range spans a 2.0 turbo, a plug-in hybrid, a twin-turbo V6 and, depending on market, the rare 4.2 Blackwing V8. These give very different maintenance profiles. The PHEV demands real discipline around the charging system and 12-volt battery, while V6 and V8 cars need close attention mainly to cooling, the gearbox and on-board electronics. On the CT6, the driving experience depends heavily on how well the car has been looked after.
