The DB9 GT Volante takes the GT coupe formula and adds the emotional pull of a convertible. Its naturally aspirated `547 hp V12`, fabric roof and very pure shape make it one of the last great open Aston Martins before the next generation. A Porsche 911 Cabriolet stays more compact and more disciplined; the DB9 GT Volante is about presence, elegance and open-air theatre.
This version is especially sought after because it combines the mature mechanical package of the final DB9 years with the open-top experience, something rare in an Aston that is both this powerful and this elegant. It remains above all a large touring convertible, demanding in its consumables and in the quality of its upkeep. As usual, very low mileage is not automatically good news if the car mostly lived under a cover.
