📖Aston Martin Rapide AMR: the brand's most radical V12 saloon

Aston Martin Rapide AMR (2018-2020)

The Rapide AMR pushes the Aston saloon idea to its logical extreme. With nearly `600 hp`, a stiffer chassis tune and limited production, it turns the Rapide into something almost anachronistic: a big naturally aspirated four-door car built just as the market pivots to turbocharging and hybrids. Its natural rival is no longer a simple luxury saloon but a Porsche Panamera Turbo or something similar.

The `V12` gains more voice, response and presence, while the wider tracks, `21-inch` wheels and firmer suspension make the car more incisive than a Rapide S. The downside is obvious: it becomes even more dependent on tyre quality, brake condition and proper servicing. It is a very desirable rarity, but absolutely not an Aston you can monitor from a distance.

  • A good example is quickly identified by front-end precision, braking quality and a tyre set that still makes sense.
