The `2016` facelift gives the `Mulsanne` its definitive face and, in a way, its place as the last great Bentley of the old world. The car gains more presence, a clearer line-up and stronger derivatives such as the `Speed`, all without betraying the core philosophy: a hand-built limousine, very heavy, very torque-rich and designed to impress as much through atmosphere as through the way it moves.
Next to a Mercedes-Benz S-Class Maybach, the facelifted `Mulsanne` feels less digital and more embodied. The `6.75-litre V8` remains the soul of the model, while the `Speed` adds a dose of firmness and mechanical presence that is surprising in a car of this size. The model still demands faultless care, especially late in its life when many examples covered very little mileage.
