Arriving for the 2018 model year, the `Enclave II` changed the tone of the model. The `C1XX` platform improved cabin space, road manners and perceived quality, while the naturally aspirated `3.6-litre V6` rose to `310 hp`. That still gives this large SUV a more linear, less dramatic response than many turbocharged rivals from the same period.
This generation also brought the `9T65` automatic and a much more premium presentation without giving up the family brief. Next to a Toyota Highlander, the Enclave leans harder into silence and soft suspension. The trade-off is that low-speed calibration, electrical health and the way the comfort systems behave matter much more to daily satisfaction than they did on the first generation.
