The CTS II Coupe is one of the most striking Cadillac designs of the early 2010s: an extremely low roofline, huge doors and an abrupt rear that make it instantly recognisable. The car favours presence over understatement while keeping the serious rear-wheel-drive platform of the CTS II. In character it reads as a rare and more extroverted alternative to a BMW 4 Series or a conventional German coupe.
The engine of choice is mostly the 3.6 V6, while the CTS-V Coupe with its supercharged LSA V8 is the true image car. The coupe body brings its own maintenance considerations: long doors, frameless windows, seals and perceived structural rigidity matter almost as much as the drivetrain. A spectacular CTS Coupe that has been poorly set up or poorly maintained becomes tiresome in daily use far more quickly than the saloon.
