Launched in `2013`, the `S3 Sedan 8V` applied Audi's compact performance formula to a true three-box body. Against a BMW 3 Series, it is smaller, livelier and often more extrovert, while still keeping the presentation of a serious small saloon. On the used market it can be very appealing, but only if the mechanical side and the driveline were handled properly.
Under the bonnet you mainly find the `2.0 TFSI EA888` in `CJXC` and `CYFB` form, paired with `S tronic` and `Haldex`-type all-wheel drive for roughly `300 hp`. The base can take the load, but it reacts badly to early remaps, stretched service intervals and vague driveline upkeep. A good `S3 Sedan 8V` should start cleanly, warm up without anomalies, pull without flat spots and remain perfectly coherent on four matching tyres.
