With the third generation, the `Continental GT` finally leaves behind the idea of being merely a very fast grand coupe and becomes a genuinely high-tech GT. Group-platform architecture, a dual-clutch gearbox, rear-wheel steering on some versions and active anti-roll hardware all change the way the car drives. The result is more modern, more precise and clearly easier to use than the previous generations.
This phase naturally sits opposite a very civilised Porsche 911 Turbo, even if the Bentley remains much larger and much more luxurious. The `V8` offers a sharper and often more sensible used buy, while the `W12` keeps the high-end locomotive feel that defines part of the Continental charm. The car no longer just impresses in a straight line; thanks to the `DCT` and `48 V` chassis systems, it becomes surprisingly coherent on fast flowing roads.
