Bentley manages a difficult balancing act here: keeping the idea of a vast prestige convertible while adding more immediate response and a genuine electric-driving element. The car does not become light, but it feels even more sovereign in the way it gathers speed from anywhere.
A Porsche 911 Cabriolet remains more compact and more overtly sporty; the `GTC IV` answers with luxury, presence and the huge performance reserve delivered by the hybrid system. Early cars will inevitably need close watching, because the charging hardware, cooling system and software stability will weigh more heavily than ever in real running costs.
