Arriving in 2022, the third-generation BMW X1 U11 introduced a bold, upright design, a minimalist interior dominated by the BMW Curved Display and, for the first time, the all-electric iX1. Built on an evolved UKL platform, it raised the bar for compact premium SUVs in terms of tech and perceived quality. Maintaining this digital-first crossover calls for structured BMW X1 maintenance, where software calibration and 12V electrical health are as crucial as mechanical servicing.
The engine lineup spans mild-hybrid petrols and diesels (20i, 20d), high-performance petrols (M35i), plug-in hybrids (25e, 30e) and dual-motor all-electric models (iX1 xDrive30). Most combustion and PHEV variants use a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Electrified versions deploy a high-voltage battery and electric rear-axle drive, while the chassis features frequency-selective adaptive M dampers and optional intelligent xDrive.
