Unveiled at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show and produced exclusively in China through the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture, the second-generation Citroën C6 took a completely different path from its quirky European predecessor. Measuring nearly five metres with a formal three-box saloon profile, lavish leather upholstery and an extended wheelbase, adhering to disciplined Citroën C6 maintenance keeps its modern running gear running smoothly.
Unlike the hydraulic original, the C6 II rides on a conventional steel-sprung EMP2 platform and utilises turbocharged Prince petrol engines: the 1.6 THP (350THP) and the 1.8 THP (380THP and 400THP), paired with Aisin six-speed or eight-speed automatic gearboxes. These direct-injection units deliver refined acceleration but require diligent servicing of the timing chain tensioner and high-pressure fuel supply.
