Under the bonnet, the modern 1.0 FireFly three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (100 hp) replaces older naturally aspirated units, offering cleaner emissions and superior low-end torque governed by a 1.0 FireFly timing chain. Long-distance drivers are served by the uprated 1.6 MultiJet II diesel producing 130 hp, which retains its established 1.6 MultiJet cambelt valvetrain. While the FireFly delivers punchy urban performance, early engine calibration maps occasionally cause low-rpm hesitation, making ECU software updates part of routine servicing.
