Launched in `2011`, the `Continental GTC II` carries over the deep evolution of the second-generation Continental into a very large luxury convertible that is clearly better resolved than the first. Rigidity improves, the presentation moves up another notch and the car feels less massive in its responses. Against a Maserati GranTurismo Convertible, the Bentley is still the heavier and more aristocratic proposition, but it finally mixes prestige, silence and genuine seriousness of use more convincingly.
At launch the car is built mainly around the `6.0 biturbo W12`, then the `4.0 biturbo V8` arrives in `2012` with a character many owners find more vivid and better suited to the road. Both engines work with the `ZF 8` gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system that handles the torque easily, provided service remains exemplary. In this generation the question is not just the engine: the multi-layer roof, frameless glazing, air suspension and comfort electronics all have to stay perfectly synchronised.
