The engine family consists of naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1.0-litre CSS Prime three-cylinder units featuring an oil-immersed wet timing belt. This critical design makes strict adherence to GM Dexos1 engine oil viscosity and specifications absolutely mandatory; substandard oil or deferred oil changes degrade the rubber belt, sending dislodged particles into the oil pickup strainer, leading to sudden oil pressure loss and engine destruction.
