Introduced in 2011, the BMW M5 F10 reshapes the M5 formula deeply: more torque, more efficiency and a much more modern delivery than the V10 predecessor. Against a contemporary Mercedes C-Class AMG, it feels as a big M saloon broader, calmer and almost effortlessly fast. For that reason, it only makes sense as a used buy when engine, gearbox and cooling have been followed properly.
At the centre is the `S63B44B`, a biturbo `4.4 V8` with `560 hp` and `680 Nm`, paired with the `7-speed M DCT` and an active rear differential. On this early phase, cooling, lubrication, ignition, sealing and gearbox quality deserve particular attention. A good M5 F10 combines enormous performance with real maturity; a poor one quickly loses coherence and becomes expensive.
