With the facelift from 2013 onward, the BMW M5 F10 is not reinvented, but it becomes visibly more mature in presentation, ergonomics and model logic. Against a contemporary Mercedes C-Class AMG, it remains the big M saloon for drivers who want brutal performance combined with genuine long-distance ability. The issue stays the same: that maturity does not reduce the maintenance requirement.
The engine remains the `S63B44B` biturbo V8 with `560 hp`, joined by the `Competition Package` at `575 hp`, the `30 Jahre M5` at `600 hp` and the `Competition Edition`, also with `600 hp`. The `7-speed M DCT`, active differential, cooling and ignition therefore remain central inspection points. A good facelift car needs to feel fully coherent between engine, gearbox and chassis, whether it is a standard car or one of the special versions.
