Ford Taurus VI SHO (2009-2012)

Transformed for the 2010 model year into an imposing, chiseled full-size saloon, the Taurus VI delivered boardroom styling and vault-like serenity, crowned by the high-performance SHO derivative. Rigorous Ford Taurus maintenance is essential to protect its advanced twin-turbo powertrain and all-wheel-drive transfer unit. In the performance saloon class, the Taurus SHO challenged the Dodge Charger R/T by offering stealthy twin-turbo all-weather capability.

While standard variants featured the naturally aspirated 3.5 Duratec V6, the SHO unleashed the 365 hp 3.5 EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 with direct injection, backed by a reinforced 6F55 transmission. However, both engines feature the internal water pump driven by timing chain, while AWD models remain highly vulnerable to PTU all-wheel-drive transfer case fluid cooking under heavy boost and hot motorway driving.
