Under the bonnet, the G11 introduced BMW's modular engine family: the dependable B57 straight-six diesel (730d, 740d, quad-turbo 750d), the sweet-spinning B58 petrol (740i), the plug-in hybrid 740e iPerformance and the twin-turbo N63 V8 (750i). Paired with the peerless ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, power delivery is effortless.
