Launched in 2008 alongside the F01 saloon, the long-wheelbase BMW 7 Series Long F02 extended the wheelbase by 14 cm to offer expansive rear legroom and executive travel comfort. Embodying understated elegance and high-tech connectivity, it presented a formidable alternative to the Mercedes S-Class. Ensuring its longevity on the road demands comprehensive BMW 7 Series maintenance, particularly concerning powertrain cooling and pneumatic running gear.
The 2008-2011 engine range featured the economical 730Ld with the N57 straight-six diesel, the twin-turbo 740Li powered by the N54, the potent 750Li with the twin-turbo N63B44A V8, and the 760Li V12. All engines were paired with an automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive, with xDrive arriving later. Standard rear air suspension with self-levelling and double-wishbone front suspension deliver a cloud-like ride when properly maintained.
